NEVADA CITY PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVES DEVELOPMENT OF NEW HOMES
The Nevada City
Planning Commission has approved the rezoning of part of the Nevada City
Tech Center property for the development of 59 homes.
The homes will be integrated into the Tech Center Master Plan but be located
in a separate part of the 45 acre property among the trees and alongside a
creek. The homes will be designed to be 'workforce housing' and will
increase the appeal of the neighboring office buildings and be within easy
walking distance of two schools, shops services and transit. The homes will
be designed to be highly energy efficient and will use all feasible
sustainable development practices. With this addition the Tech Center will
become not only the premier business location in Nevada County but a
showpiece for mixed use and smart growth principles.
